Before his death in 2008, William F. Buckley Jr., intellectual architect of the modern conservative movement, chose one writer to tell his story and granted him exclusive access to his most private papers: Sam Tanenhaus. The result, Buckley: The Life and the Revolution that Changed America, was published in 2025 and named one of the year’s best by the New York Times Book Review. Tanenhaus will draw on that journey, sharing the discoveries he made along the way, and make the case for why Buckley’s legacy remains not just relevant, but urgent.
