In the early 2000s, an audacious team of con artists managed to convince galleries and collectors to pay millions for works attributed to Motherwell, Pollock, Rothko and others that turned out to be fakes. It became the greatest art fraud scandal in American history, ending in a trial as dramatic as the deception itself. Filmmaker and author Barry Avrich, who directed the Netflix documentary Made You Look, and authored The Devil Wears Rothko will reveal how the con was pulled off, who was fooled, and why some of the sharpest eyes in the business failed to see what was right in front of them.
