The Viano Quartet, one of the foremost young ensembles in North America, is joined by revered pianist Sir Stephen Hough for a concert of revolutionary piano quintets. The program includes Hough’s own “Red Wedding” Quintet, a ferocious, colorful piece that depicts a terrifying sleighride described in a novel by Willa Cather. The evening will end with the swinging, folk-inspired energy of Antonín Dvořák’s glorious Piano Quintet in A major.
