BIOGRAPHY BOOK CLUB
Each moderated small group will focus on the life of a prominent person. A suggested reading list of available books from the King Library will be distributed once registered. The book group requires attendees to read at least one of the suggested books and come ready to discuss. Please note this is a group discussion without the person of focus present.
Jane Goodall, born in 1934, is a pioneering primatologist, ethologist, and conservationist known for her groundbreaking research on chimpanzees in Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National Park. Her lifelong dedication to studying and protecting wildlife has made her a leading voice in environmental advocacy and wildlife conservation worldwide.
Moderator: Dr. Diana Barrett
Biography: Diana Barrett was on the Faculty of Harvard University from 1975 until 2004. She received both her Master’s in Business Administration and her Doctorate in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. After a long academic career, in 2005 she founded The Fledgling Fund, providing grants to filmmakers who believe that their documentary films can ignite or sustain social change. Dr. Barrett is on the Board of the Everglades Foundation, The Climate Emergency Fund, The Society of the Four Arts and is on the Visiting Committees for Photography and Scientific Conservation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
