Short Story: Quantum of Solace by Ian Fleming

In Quantum of Solace, Ian Fleming departs from his usual espionage thrills to deliver a quietly unsettling domestic drama. Told through a story shared over dinner in the Bahamas, James Bond becomes a listener to a tale of love turned cold and cruel, exploring the fragile minimum, the “quantum of solace,” needed to sustain a relationship.
