BIOGRAPHY BOOK CLUB
Each moderated small group will focus on the life of a prominent person. A suggested reading list of available books from the King Library will be distributed once registered. The book group requires attendees to read at least one of the suggested books and come ready to discuss. Please note this is a group discussion without the person of focus present.
Tina Turner (1939–2023) was a legendary singer, songwriter, and actress whose electrifying performances and powerful voice redefined rock and roll. Known as the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” she overcame personal and professional challenges to become one of the best-selling recording artists of all time, inspiring generations with her resilience, talent, and unforgettable hits like What’s Love Got to Do with It and Proud Mary.
Moderator: Dr. Rachel Schipper
Biography: Dr. Rachel Schipper, after 30 years in university administration, became the director of libraries at the Four Arts in 2014. She completed master’s degrees in Museum Studies and Library Science and holds an Ed.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science. Rachel volunteers as a docent and enjoys mediating in County and Family court in her spare time.
