BIOGRAPHY BOOK CLUB

Each moderated small group will focus on the life of a prominent person. A suggested reading list of available books from the King Library will be distributed once registered. The book group requires attendees to read at least one of the suggested books and come ready to discuss. Please note this is a group discussion without the person of focus present.

Jacques Pépin (b. 1935) is a legendary chef, author, and television personality whose influence on modern cuisine is immeasurable. Renowned for his mastery of French cooking techniques, he has spent decades educating and inspiring home cooks through his acclaimed cookbooks and TV programs. His warm, approachable style and dedication to culinary excellence have made him one of the most respected figures in the food world.

Moderator: Roberta Sabban

Biography: Roberta Sabban’s culinary writing career began in Washington, D. C., with bylines in Washingtonian Magazine and The Washington Post. She was food editor for The Journal Newspapers, a group of five papers servicing the beltway communities around Washington, D.C. Sabban has lived in Israel, France, Luxembourg and traveled extensively throughout Europe plus jaunts to Morocco, Tunisia and Tahiti. This offered her the opportunity to taste, travel and write about her adventures near and far. After moving to Florida, Sabban began giving cooking classes in French, Italian and International cuisine. She has written about food and wine for The Palm Beach Daily News, has led ethnic market tours, behind-the-scenes culinary tours of Paris, themed summer restaurant series featuring conversations with purveyors and chefs plus culinary literature programs.
